Flashstor or Lockerstor?

What warranty do Asustor NAS units carry in the UAE?

Asustor's standard warranty is 3 years on every NAS in this range, and 5 years on the Lockerstor R Pro Gen2 (AS7212RDX, AS7216RDX, AS7224RDX) and the Xpanstor 12R (AX7012R). Accessories differ: RAM is 3 years (5 years on ECC DDR4 and ECC UDIMM modules), network cards and the switch 2 years (the SAS card 3 years), power supplies 1 year, and trays, rail kits, heatsinks and licences carry none. Give us the model, serial number and invoice and we raise the claim.

Do you supply drives with Asustor NAS?

Can I upgrade the RAM or add 10GbE?

It depends on the model. Drivestor Gen2 and Pro Gen2 memory is fixed. Nimbustor Gen2, Lockerstor Gen2 and Gen2+ and Flashstor take DDR4 SO-DIMM up to 16GB (AS-4GD4 and AS-8GD4 are listed for them), and Lockerstor RD up to 128GB. Lockerstor Gen3 and Flashstor Gen2 take DDR5 SO-DIMM up to 64GB (AS-8GD5 and AS-16GECD5), and the R Pro takes ECC DDR5 UDIMM up to 192GB (AS-16GECD5-U). 4K editing on an all-NVMe Flashstor
Flashstor holds 6 or 12 M.2 NVMe SSDs and no hard drives, in a mini desktop case. The Gen2 models add two USB4 ports, and the FS6812X has dual 10GbE (the FS6806X has one), so an editing team can work from shared flash instead of a spinning pool. NVMe costs more per terabyte than hard drives, so size the pool to the active projects and keep the archive on a Lockerstor.

A Lockerstor Gen2+ or Gen3 is the usual office file server: 2 to 10 SATA bays, four M.2 slots, 5GbE or 10GbE to the switch, and ECC memory on Gen3. Lockerstor RD (4 and 12 bays, redundant power) and Lockerstor R Pro Gen2 (12, 16 and 24 bays, Ryzen 7 PRO, dual 10GbE, five-year warranty) mount in a 19-inch rack with the AS-Rail kit. The R Pro models add a 12-bay Xpanstor 12R (AX7012R) through the AS-SAS8e SAS card and an AX-HD1M Mini-SAS HD cable, so one head unit can grow past its own bays without a second NAS.
