IronWolf is rated for 1–8 bays and 180TB/year workload. IronWolf Pro is rated for 24 bays, 300TB/year, has a 5-year warranty, and bundles 3 years of Seagate data recovery. For 16-bay+ NAS, only Pro should be specified.
Technically yes, operationally no. SMR write cycles cause rebuild stalls in CMR-paced arrays. We stock CMR-only IronWolf and Exos SKUs by default and only quote BarraCuda SMR for single-user workloads.
Exos X and Exos X+ both ship in SAS variants for dual-controller storage and high-availability JBOD. SAS pricing runs roughly 15–25% above the equivalent SATA SKU. Quote both if your controller supports either.
One free recovery attempt per drive within three years of purchase on IronWolf Pro and Exos drives. Coverage includes physical damage, electrical failure, and accidental deletion. Registration must happen within 90 days of purchase.
Yes. Exos X18 and above use helium-filled enclosures for the higher platter counts. We track current batch firmware and confirm health on arrival to avoid pre-failed units reaching the customer.
Required for warranty if the camera count exceeds 8 streams 24/7. Consumer drives in NVR roles void warranty and fail early under the constant write workload. SkyHawk firmware is tuned for the write-heavy profile.
Stocked SKUs ship the same business day for orders confirmed before 2pm. Out-of-stock SKUs are 5–10 business days for air freight from Singapore or Amsterdam, depending on the family.
