Why we supply Samsung

The specs that matter to UAE buyers.

Samsung sets the bar on NVMe consumer SSDs. The 990 Pro is the benchmark Gen4 drive most reviews compare to. The 9100 Pro extends the line into Gen5. The 870 EVO remains the SATA value champion for laptop and desktop upgrades. The PM9A3 enterprise line covers the U.2 NVMe data centre workloads.

Samsung memory is harder to find at retail — Samsung B-die DDR4 is the IC most enthusiasts hunt for, and Samsung sells most DDR5 to OEMs. We track B-die-spec memory kits when supply permits and supply the standard Samsung server DDR4 RDIMM for OEM bills of materials.

Use cases

Where Samsung actually lands in UAE deployments.

Real configurations we've quoted and shipped this year. Each scenario maps to a product line above — useful when you're scoping a similar project.

  1. 01

    Content creator workstation

990 Pro 4TB for the OS, 990 Pro 4TB for project files, T7 Shield 4TB for the field offload. Three Samsung NVMe drives because the sustained performance under multi-hour exports is what wins versus mixing brands.

  2. 02

Database server SSD refresh on Dell PowerEdge

PM9A3 7.68TB × 8 in RAID 10. Replacing 1.92TB SATA SSDs that had aged out. PLP and 1 DWPD endurance match the workload. Quote includes Dell-tested firmware revision for support compatibility.

  3. 03

    Laptop fleet SATA upgrade

870 EVO 1TB × 50 to refresh a corporate laptop fleet. Bulk OEM tray packaging, 30-day batch firmware burn-in at our end before delivery to the IT team.

Comparison

Samsung vs Crucial T-series

Honest side-by-side on the specs UAE buyers ask about most often. We supply both — pick on workload and price, not on logo.

FAQ

Samsung buyer questions, answered.

Questions that actually come up on quotes. If yours isn't here, WhatsApp us or send the form.

  • Within ~3% of the top of the chart for most consumer Gen4 SSDs. Faster controllers exist (Phison E26-equipped drives) but the 990 Pro's sustained performance and 1200 TBW per TB endurance keep it the safe choice for prosumer and workstation builds.

  • If the motherboard supports Gen5 NVMe and the workload benefits from sequential reads above 7000 MB/s, yes. For most desktop and OS-drive use cases, 990 Pro Gen4 is enough — the 9100 Pro shines in content workflows that genuinely sustain Gen5 speeds.

  • Yes, under continuous write workloads above 30 minutes the 990 Pro will thermal-throttle without a heatsink. We recommend the 990 Pro with Heatsink SKU for any workstation or content creator build. PS5 use absolutely requires the heatsink variant.

  • Yes, PM9A3 is on the Dell PowerEdge AVL for most current and previous-gen servers. We quote PM9A3 instead of the Dell-branded NVMe SSD when the customer is comfortable with non-OEM-branded drives — typically saves 25–35% with the same 1 DWPD spec.

  • Stock is intermittent. We track Samsung B-die kits when supply permits — typically G.Skill Trident Z Royal, Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB, or Patriot Viper Steel kits with confirmed B-die ICs. Always quote with batch verification because the B-die supply has been mixed since 2023.

  • Same performance class (~1050 MB/s). T7 Shield has a higher IP rating (IP65 vs IP55) and a 3m drop rating. SanDisk Extreme has the firmware-bug history. Both are reliable post-2024 — pick on price and form-factor preference.

  • 5-year warranty handled through us. RMA paperwork at Bur Dubai office. Turnaround averages 7–14 business days. For production-critical scenarios we keep swap stock on 1TB and 2TB 990 Pro.
